National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)

Do you have employees working towards an NVQ? They will be able to demonstrate prior learning thanks to the special features of our Learner Management System (LMS). These include progress tracking and several reporting options. You can download certificates for them as evidence for their learning portfolios.

NVQs demonstrate a level of ability at work with an emphasis on on-the-job learning. NVQs are based on national occupational standards. These standards are statements of performance that describe what competent people in a particular occupation are expected to be able to do.

NVQs do not have to be completed in a specified amount of time. They can be taken by full-time employees or by school and college students with a work placement or part-time job that enables them to develop the appropriate skills. There are no age limits and no special entry requirements.

Assessment for NVQ recognises prior learning which has taken place at work and with underpinning knowledge gained from off-the-job training. Achievement of competency leads to a nationally recognised qualification at an appropriate level.
