Acquired Brain Injury : e-learning course
Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) is injury to the brain, which can result in complex disabilities that often have a dramatic impact on the person's life. Changes may be short term or long term and affect emotions, behavior and personality. ABI often has real consequences for the social life of the survivor and for their families.
There is a real need for basic awareness training on the subject of ABI. In order to plan and deliver appropriate services, managers, practitioners and others need to understand how ABI affects the individual and those around them. By developing an understanding of the ABI those involved in the planning and delivery of all sorts of services will be better placed to meet the needs of survivors of ABI and their carers.
