The Mental Health Act gained Royal Assent on 19th July 2007 and is part of a number of measures to update mental health legislation. This online training course on the Mental Health Act will help you to understand how to apply the Act in your daily work. Its purpose is to update anyone with an interest in the mental health sector with the provisions of the new Act This course is not designed to help you understand mental health issues per se although it will help you understand what is meant by the term 'mental disorder'. This e-learning course can be used in addition to conventional training in the Mental Health Act and is a useful alternative for those who prefer to work at their own pace and at a time and place of their choosing.
